About us

We're a growing civil construction company delivering major infrastructure projects across NSW. As we expand, we're strengthening our internal systems for cost control, forecasting and project reporting — and we're after the right person to take ownership of it.

About the role

This is not a typical project admin role. You'll build, implement and manage our cost control systems from the ground up, then run them day-to-day across projects. You'll play a key part in making sure our projects are financially controlled, accurately reported and performing as expected.

Build & implement systems

  • Build and implement systems for project budgeting, cost tracking, forecasting and reporting
  • Create practical templates and processes that work across site and office teams
  • Implement and manage a purchase order (PO) system
  • Continuously improve the systems as the business grows

Cost control & forecasting

  • Create and manage project budgets from start to finish
  • Track actual costs vs budget across all projects
  • Prepare and update weekly forecasts (cost to complete & margin)
  • Identify cost risks early and work with site teams to manage them

Reporting, claims & controls

  • Prepare and present weekly project reports — budget vs actual vs forecast, profitability and cashflow, key risks and variances
  • Prepare and submit monthly progress claims, and track claimed vs approved revenue
  • Manage variations (submitted, pending, approved) and ensure all completed work is captured and claimed
  • Reconcile invoices, dockets and timesheets, and keep costs approved, allocated and captured in real time

About you

  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in construction or civil projects
  • Strong understanding of cost control, forecasting and progress claims
  • Proven ability to build and implement systems from scratch
  • Proactive, hands-on and solutions-focused
  • Strong Excel and reporting skills, with high attention to detail
  • Confident working with both site and office teams

What we offer

  • Opportunity to build and own the company's cost control systems
  • Work on major infrastructure projects across NSW
  • Growing business with long-term opportunities
  • Supportive, hands-on team environment
  • Competitive salary + performance incentives
